Summary Surgical management of orbital tumors is based on several basic principles. A thorough clinical history and examination should be made before viewing imaging. The location of the mass with regard to the optic nerve and the involvement of the extraconal or intraconal space are factors which will determine the surgical approach taken. In addition a tumor involving the surgical apex of the orbit should be carefully considered before operation. The use of small minimal incisions give better results and less morbidity, and should be used where possible. Video presentations of approaches and pictures of numerous cases are presented.
