A retrospective study of ten Icelandic cases of juvenile disciform macular degeneration, 1981 – 1988 was undertaken in the only referral clinic of a country of 250000 people. Some of these cases were associated with punctate inner choroidopathy or recurrent multifocal choroiditis and the disciform lesions occurred primarily in young, otherwise healthy, moderately myopic women.
