Abstract A rare case of fibrous histiocytoma in an infant is described. The tumour appeared to arise in the medial orbit, invading the ethmoid and maxillary sinuses. Surgical and medical management, and the subsequent clinical course in a 11 year follow‐up period are described. Histogenesis of this primary mesenchymal tumour is discussed. ‐
