In Caucasians myasthenia gravis (MG) showed a strong assosiation with HLA‐BS and a secondary association with HLA‐A1, Dw3 and DR3. Female MG patients had a higher frequency of HLA‐B8 than males and the presence of HLA‐B8 was correlated with early onset of the disease. In Japanese there was a strong association of MG with HLA‐B12 and a less strong association with HLA‐A9 and HLA‐Bw35.
