Five Goldmann‐tonometers have been used clinically over a two‐year period. They have been exposed to continuous ultraviolet light during working hours in five sterilizers constructed by us. The distance between burner and prism base is 10 cm. The tonometer prism will last for 6 months, or about 1000 hours of effective disinfection of the prism base.
