SUMMARY Comparison has been made for startup and operating costs of mobile versus traditional dental practice. Economies in the mobile practice have been demonstrated. Some strategies were presented to help perpetuate those economies. Reimbursement mechanisms through Medicaid and Medicare were briefly examined in addition to present initiatives in health care reform. The financial aspects of mobile practice must be studied before implementation of this vital service so that the practitioner may be financially secure.
