SUMMARY Adequate intraoral illumination has remained one of the major obstacles in providing high‐quality care in nontraditional settings. After trying to adapt various light sources, we found that a portable fiberoptic light unit meets our criteria. An added benefit not initially considered is the ability to use the light to cure composite resin materials. The fiberoptic unit has been an excellent addition to our dental home care program.
