Through the use of a newly developed Hygiene Analysis Index (HAI), nine toothbrushes were evaluated for plaque-removing efficiency in 11 dental students. Results indicate that brush selection is an individual matter with no one brush clearly superior to all others. Further study is necessary before definite conclusions can be made.
