. A direct search optimization routine has been added to USDAHL‐74 Revised Model of Watershed Hydrology. It provides an objective method to determine values of selected parameters to give the optimum match between observed and computed hydrologic data. Examination of intermediate results also gives information on the sensitivity of the model to changes in the parameter being optimized.
