This paper discusses the immediate and long‐term psychosocial consequences of traumatic events that can affect psychotherapists, including family therapits. Traumatic events invade both work and personal life and can create both opportunities and dangers. These will be discussed from a traumatological perspective. including how traumatic reactions may affect a family therapist's work.
