Patterns of missed appointments and fee payments for six female clients who were in therapy for one year or more prior to the therapist's pregnancy were studied. The study revealed that there were significant differences in appointments missed and no significant differences in feepaying patterns during and following the pregnancy when compared to patterns prior to the pregnancy. The changes in appointment patterns can affect the therapist's attitude toward clients and intensify a sense of instability. Anticipation of such changes can prevent unnecessary stress for both the client and therapist.
