Relationships in Music Therapy: Do Music Therapy Techniques Discourage the Emergence of Transference?

. It seems to be a criticism of the Creative Therapies that the transference relationship is avoided when projective techniques are used. In this paper, the author draws from her own clinical experience to put forward the view that the techniques used by Music Therapists do not in themselves necessitate the avoidance of working with transference.
