47 reference samples of mineral raw materials were prepared by collaborative work of Czechoslovak geological laboratories; these reference samples include silicates, feldspars, kaolin, clays, fluorspars, baryta, carbonates, siliceous materials, ores of Pb‐Zn, Cu, Sb, Eg, Sn‐W and Ag‐Au. The pulverized samples were tested for homogeneity using analysis of variance. The analytical results were evaluated statistically; arithmetic mean, its confidence interval and values of precision and accuracy of the individual determinations were computed. Some analytical problems which were encountered during this study and which require further research work are also reported.
