The Else Kröner Fresenius Foundation has made a donation of € 404,000 for the benefit of the East African Training Center in Tanzania for Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Digestive Oncology. The Training Centre will be built in Dar es Salaam / Tanzania by the Gastroenterology Foundation Munich (GF). This generous donation will allow GF to furnish and equip the Training Centre and to recruit a Project Manager. GF would also like to thank the German Society for Digestive and Metabolic Disorders, Dr. Hauff, Georg Thieme Publishing at Stuttgart, and the large number of private donors and GF members without whose financial support the project could not have been realized. Furthermore, we appreciate the creative and practical assistance provided by the endoscope manufacturers Olympus Medical Company and Dr. Karl Storz, who enabled us to acquire state-of-the-art endoscopic equipment.
