SUMMARY It has been a most interesting and often exciting experience to have been involved in the study of photodynamic reactions during this period of rapid expansion of research and the development of so many promising applications of photosensitized reactions to biomedical problems. As indicated above, the present level of activity is overwhelming at times. I should probably not admit it, but occasionally, after going through masses of new literature, I become a bit nostalgic, and reminisce a little on the earlier days when the study of photodynamic reactions was a quiet, noncompetitive, relaxing and gentlemanly pursuit.
