— This note supplements the paper by Badilescu et al. (1989) [ Photochem. Photobiol. 49 , 313‐318]. Low temperature solution spectra of 1: 2 and 2: 1 mixtures of trans ‐retinylidene‐tertbutylamine and propanoic acid are presented. The results show that the degree of protonation is both temperature and concentration dependent.
