— Phosphorescence at room temperature was observed for the 2‐(p‐toluidinyl)naphthalene‐6‐sulfonate (TNS) and l‐anilinonaphthalene‐8‐sulfonate (ANS) bovine serum albumin complexes. It is suggested that the phosphorescence lifetimes of a few milliseconds for TNS and ANS will allow for the study of processes occurring on this time scale in biological macromolecules.
