— –Measurements on I‐pyrenearboxaldehyde (PCHO) are repeated, extended and reinterpreted. Instead of a dependence on the dielectric constant of the solvent, a more complex solvent dependence is found. As a consequence. the use of PCHO as a micelle polarity probe is questioned.
