— Mechanisms for the initiation of free radical reactions in vivo are reviewed, including ozone and 1 O 2 reactions, radiation, one‐electron transfer processes, and enzymatic reactions. The roles that radical reactions might play in aging processes and in carcinogenesis are discussed.
