Abstract— Upon irradiation of D‐amino‐acid oxidase‐benzoate complex with monochromatic light, an increase is observed in fluorescence emission and in transient absorption, whilst no variation is detected in optical absorption. The phenomenon is discussed in terms of a flavin‐adenine‐dinucleotide release from the apoprotein, possibly followed by chromophore photodegradation.
