— Uracil, 5‐hydroxymethyluracil, and 5‐formyluracil have been identified by paper chromatography as the photo‐oxidation products from an aqueous solution of thymine which was irradiated with germicidal lamps. These findings are parallel to the photochemical changes of 1,3‐dimethylthyniine as reported in the preceding paper.
