[Extract] So-called brown-spot disease as reported in alligators and crocodiles is now recognised as an economically important skin disease of farmed crocodiles and alligators in Australia, Africa and America. Dermatophilus sp, which resembles Dermatophilus congolensis on culture, has been isolated from brown-spot lesions in both alligators and crocodiles.
