We report on an unusual case of a 59‐year‐old man with renal cell carcinoma (RCC), who presented with a pathological fracture in his left third metacarpal resulting from a single osteolytic metastasis. Nuclear bone and computed tomography scans revealed no other sites of recurrence. Zoledronic acid and palliative radiotherapy were administered, and orthopaedic follow‐up revealed healing of the lesion. The prevalence and management of bone metastases in patients with RCC are discussed.
