A recently developed mathematical model of stillwater pond aquaculture is discussed. Comparisons are made between computer generated diel oxygen cycles and actual field data and the simulations are seen to compare favorably in many cases. A sensitivity analysis of important management and environmental variables is discussed. This model is based on a first principles approach and is neither site nor species specific, however, it does contain certain limitations and shortcomings. These are discussed and areas for future improvements are identified.
