A vertically stacked cage system capable of supporting juvenile s and adult lobsters in individual compartments has been designed and is being tested for commercial production of the American lobster Homarus americanus . Details are given for the construction and operation of the unit as well as techniques for feeding each animal. The modular unit is designed for lobsters ranging from the 4th stage to the adult size.
