Chironomid larvae were cultured in 12, 1.25 m 2 plastic pools. For use as fertilizers, chicken manure, cottonseed meal, fish meal, and cow manure were tested separately. Chicken manure produced most economical yields. Larvae were harvested by flotation using a sugar solution.
