One of the most important considerations in the undertaking of an aquaculture venture is site selection. As there are a number of aquaculture techniques – open water culture, static pond culture, raceway culture, basket culture, and high‐density culture – the aquaculturist must consider many factors. This paper discusses the many factors that must be taken into account when selecting a site for aquaculture.
