ABSTRACT: In the paper an insight into the mechanisms of a strong feedback between the thermal events taking place in the plasma plume core and in the arc chamber cavity during the plume transition to turbulence is given. The piece of knowledge is confronted with the data obtained in flapping plumes where such interplay does not exist practically.
