Summary Attachments to the Beckman DU and DK‐2 spectrophotometers are described for use in recording the disc electrophoresis patterns of colored materials at various wavelengths of light. The attachment to the DK‐2 instrument allows automatic recording of the pattern and can in addition be used to obtain a full wavelength scan of a given electrophoretic component. A study of the electrophoresis of yeast cytochrome c with these instruments showed that this hemoprotein can be readily converted to derivative forms by treatment with hydroquinone and by washing the resin‐bound enzyme with dilute buffer.
