Summary Gel electrophoresis was utilized to study 140 sera containing “paraproteins.” No consistent differentiation into the three basic immunologic types or the idiopathic type was possible. Since normal serum and paraprotein containing serum can be resolved into many discrete proteins, this technique may be very helpful in basic protein research.
