In this article, Freis and Ari presented the clinical data on their research for the ganglionic-blocking agent reserpine. They determined that it was ideal for treatment of mild hypertension, but because of its additive qualities, could be used in conjunction with other antihypertensive agents, such as hydralazine, for more severe cases.
