Barbara Young, who is Director of Short Courses in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at the University of Salford, shows how it is possible to develop an inventory of management skills and knowledge using a factor analysis approach. The example is taken from the construction industry, but the approach can very easily be applied in other industries.
