A new surgical technique is described for the repair of perineal hernias. Transposition of both the internal obturator muscle and the superficial gluteal muscle together was used to repair 52 hernias in 44 dogs. The technique gave a strong pelvic diaphragm, fewer postoperative complications than other techniques and good long term results.
