Aberrant lashes in the dog have been destroyed by a number of surgical methods. Cryotherapy (N 2 O) for the treatment of distichiasis and trichiasis in the dog is reviewed. Histologic examination of the lids and adnexa in four control dogs revealed a return to normal appearance in 14 days. The high success rate and minimal complications associated with the clinical technique in eight cases contrast with other methods of treatment.
