Successful conservative treatment of cervical discospondylitis in a dog

A discospondylitis between C 6 and C 7 was treated with trimethoprim* for two months. Spontaneous fusion of the involved vertebrae was observed within 6 months. Neurological symptoms disappeared completely at that time.
