Orbital pneumatosis as an unusual complication to enucleation

The gross accumulation of air within the orbital cavity following routine enucleation surgery in a young Pekingese dog is reported. The air had gained access to the orbit via the lower lacrimal canaliculus, and cure was effected by closing this structure with permanent suture material.
