The dog nasal mite, Pneumonyssus caninum , is reported from Norway for the first time in a 6–year–old mongrel with moderate clinical symptoms. Mites had been seen for a brief period 2 years previously, but the recent occurrence proved to be much more persistent. Various treatments were tried with little success. Finally a polyethylene bag containing a Vapona (dichlorvos) strip was tied around the dog's nose for 60–90 seconds twice, with 2 days interval. Subsequently, the mites disappeared for about one month.
