Sixty‐four cases of a variety of intestinal disorders in small animals were treated with Sterculia Gum orally. Satisfactory results were obtained when the drug was used alone or in conjunction with supportive therapy. The efficacy of the treatment was adequately demonstrated in both the diarrhoeic and the constipative case, and no evidence of contra‐indication was reported. Sterculia Gum absorbs at least sixty times its own volume of water, and it was found particularly valuable in the treatment and control of dehydration in the cat.
