Greyhounds sustain a number of injuries which are rarely seen in other breeds. In the left front leg fractures of the accessory carpal bone and dislocations and subluxations of the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints are particularly common whereas in the right hind leg fractures of the central tarsal bone and ruptures of the gracilis muscle occur. These injuries are discussed in relation to their aetiology and the methods of treatment employed.
