SUMMARY An attempt has been made to relate the second opinion case to the consultant, and to give the consultant's point of view both of the case and his own status. A plea is made for more mutual understanding of the difficulties facing a College consultant and for a greater definition of the consultant status as it applies to teaching institutions. Mention is made of areas where dissatisfaction may exist and an attempt has been made to explain them.
