— A review is made of the problems associated with diagnosis of “closed” pyometritis in the bitch. The use of additional aids to diagnosis and points of differential diagnosis are discussed. Résumé— Un compte‐rendu est fait sur les problèmes associés aux diagnoses des métrites purulentes “fermées” chez la femelle. L'usage d'aides complémentaires aux diagnoses et les points de diagnose differentielle sont discutés. Zusammenfassung— Überblick über die Probleme, die sich aus der Diagnose von “geschlossener” eitriger Gebärmutterentzündung bei Hündinnen ergeben. Die Verwendung neuer Hilfsmittel für die Diagnose und Fragen úber unterschiedliche Diagnosen werden besprochen.
