— A review is presented of the nutrient requirements of budgerigars. Requirements for pet birds and breeding birds are discussed and reference is made to diseases of possible nutritional origin with particular mention of thyroid dysplasia and “french moult.” Résumé— On passe en revue les besoins nutritifs des perruches inséparables, ceux des oiseaux de maison et ceux des oiseaux reproducteurs. On signale les maladies qui ont une origine nutritionnelle possible, en particulier la dysphagie thyroîdienne et la mue pathologique. Zusammenfassung— Es wird ein Überblick über den Nahrungsmittelbedarf von Wellensittichen gebracht. Es wird besprochen, was Haus‐und Zuchtvögel brauchen, und auf Krankheiten, deren Ursachen möglicherweise bei der Ernährung liegen, ganz besonders auf Schilddrüsendysphasie und das Mausern, hingewiesen.
