Abstract— The components of the hip joint are described relative to their importance in interpreting radiographs. The appearance of these structures on radiographs is discussed and attention is drawn to some of the effects of the position of the animal during the exposure. The methods used as guides to the normal depth of the acetabulum are outlined.
