— Fourteen cases of canine diabetes mellitus are described. Eleven were bitches and three were male dogs and the average age at diagnosis was seven years. The most constant symptoms were polydipsia with polyuria, persistent hyperglycaemia, glycosuria and ketonuria. Seven cases were treated by daily injections of a long‐acting preparation of insulin supported by a low‐carbohydrate diet. Treatment with tolbutamide was attempted without success in three cases.
