This paper outlines the measures which were taken at Thames Water's major water‐treatment works to uprate their hydraulic capacity in meeting the projected demands of the Thames Water ring main. In addition, the integration of advanced water‐treatment processes, in the form of ozonation and granular activated‐carbon filtration, is also highlighted.
