The internationalization of the European market means that the new technologies used in the Belgian water supply sector are very similar to those used in other European countries. Belgian experience of the following new technologies is described in this paper: denitrification, automation, remote reading of water meters, network cartography, directional drilling, leak detection, and experiments with new materials and equipment.
