Two conventional reinforced‐concrete service reservoirs failed during initial filling, the wall sections sliding sufficiently to cause rupture of some water‐stops in the expansion joints. The paper describes the remedial works undertaken to stabilize the structures and gives details of the method used to make the expansion joints watertight.
