SYNOPSIS T he paper outlines the operational experience gained on a number of combined heat and power (CHP) schemes within Wessex Water. Application philosophy is discussed with particular emphasis on economic viability. Capital and revenue costs are presented, together with details of performance. The use of a performance guarantee contract with suppliers is demonstrated and possibilities for future improvements are suggested.
