A case is presented where an unerupted lower third molar in a 56‐year‐old woman developed a dentigerous cyst. The pressure of the enlarging cyst caused distal displacement of the third molar and resorption of the roots of the first molar. The first molar was treated endodontically prior to surgery on the cyst, and a thirteen year follow‐up shows successful healing.
