Death education appears to be gaining wide acceptance within educational institutions. Much of it is contained within the health education component and taught by health educators. Yet, there is little, if any, evidence of large‐scale attempts to improve and guarantee quality instruction. Attention must now be focused on professional preparation in order to provide competent teachers and to maintain credibility within the death education and counseling area.
